My Design Process

Have you wondered what it's like to work with a designer?  Having a clearly defined process is key to a smooth and successful project.  Here is my basic 5-stage process for full-service design.  Roll over each step to learn more:

01

Planning

This step is a must

•Determine goals, needs, wants, budget

•Room measurements

•Pinterest board or other means of sharing inspiration

•Concepts, ideas, mood boards

At the end of this step: Preliminary Presentation

02

Design

I put on my design hat and create

•Floorplan, elevations

•Colors, materials and finishes

•Specific fixtures, furnishings selected

•Budget estimate

At the end of this step: Design and Materials Presentation

03

Documents

mundane but necessary

•Working drawings and schedules

•Project Binder for contractor

•Permits and approvals

•Prepare client proposals, vendor purchase orders

04

Implemen-tation

Procurement and construction

•Orders placed, tracked, received and inspected

•Demo, construction

•Site visits as needed

•Installation, and "Reveal" if possible

05

Completion

We wrap up final issues

•Styling your new space; you decide what accessories you want to purchase

•Photoshoot (your privacy is respected)

•Survey, reviews and referrals
